A {Cook}Book Review
Some of my top favorite cookbooks... They make great gifts. ;)
EveryDayCook by Alton Brown
Alton Brown is probably my favorite Food Network star, a channel I've been watching FOREVER. Alton Brown was doing book signings at our local Costco, and so we immediately bought his book. Standing in line for 2 hours though definitely paid off!!
EveryDayCook is a collection of Alton's personal recipes that he's used in the past couple years to feed himself, friends, and family. This cookbook highlights food from "Morning, Coffee Break, Noon, Afternoon, Evening, Anytime, and Later" with recipes from Overnight Coconut Oats to Smoky the Meat Loaf to EnchiLasagna/Lasagnalada to Chocapocalypse Cookie. It also features photography solely taken from his iPhone and of course, his dry sense of humor. :)
Nerdy Nummies by Rosanna Pansino
Rosanna Pansino is the creator and host of Nerdy Nummies, the internet's most popular baking show. Nerdy Nummies combines two of Ro's passions: geek culture and baking. Her unique and inspiring recipes are filled with mouthwatering photos that lead you step by step through the directions. Chapters include "Math and Science, Space, Fantasy & Sci-Fi, Gaming, Tech & Web, and Geeky Treats with recipes from Apple Pi Pie to Periodic Table of Cupcakes to Hashtag Cookies! This is Ro's first cookbook.
The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook by Dinah Bulchoz
My never-ending obsessive fanatical die-hard love for Harry Potter finally met my passion for cooking when I got this book for my birthday. The accuracy and efficiency in this book are incredible; every single food mentioned, eaten, or seen in all 3,363 pages of the seven Harry Potter books have a recipe in this cookbook! Everything from the bacon that Harry fries on Dudley's birthday, to Cauldron Cakes, to Kreacher's French Onion Soup, and even the random biscuit that Professor McGonagall offers Harry are featured in this book. Even if you aren't a fan of Harry Potter, there are still great classic British meals such as steak and kidney pudding, Shepherd's Pie, and bangers and mash.
